BUILDING RESILIENCE AGAINST CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SHOCK 2023



 I express my gratitude to the BRACE Organisers and the BRACE Team for guiding us through the intensive 6-week online training by African Food Changemakers on the BRACE Program. The Courses were focused on Building Resilience Against Climate and Environmental Shocks. This program centers around the Climate Smart Agriculture Approach, addressing three main objectives; Productivity, Resilience, and Emission Reduction.

The program covers various modules:


📍Exploring Climate Change and Agribusiness.


📍Strategies for Adaptation and Mitigation in Production.


📍Techniques for Adaptation and Mitigation in Processing and Packaging.


📍Implementing Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies in Logistics and Distribution.


📍Identifying Opportunities in Climate Smart Agriculture Adaptation.


📍Understanding Climate Policy, Shaping the Ecosystem, and Gender's Role in Climate Change.


📍Also Some of the Climate Smart Agriculture Approaches include precision farming, regenerative agriculture, circular operations, zero waste practices, eco-friendly packaging and labeling, cold storage solutions, smart energy utilization, soil health management, green storage, sustainable logistics, livestock adaptation, integrated pest management, and carbon farming.

Regenerative farming concepts encompass techniques like crop rotation, livestock grazing, composting, no-tillage methods, agroecology, agroforestry, integrated pest management, cover cropping, and carbon farming.
